Who are we?

Hey! We are Mary and Marli, and form the current board of the non-profit organization Trans* Recht e.V.

Below you will find

Mary: on the board since 2014; recently rediscovered gaming; laughs at memes but never responds to them (sorry!)

Marli: on the board since 2022; studied social sciences and gender studies; has a cute dog

What are we doing?

On the board, we are responsible for very different things. These include, for example

• work together with queer institutions and groups in a network
• Design and implementation of (own) projects
• Active participation in political processes (especially in Bremen) through contacts and discussions with political actors
• Getting to know the association structure and organization
• Collaboration in the association administration
• Helping to shape the further development of our professionalized peer counseling and legal counseling and our legal aid work

What do we offer you?

The job as a board member is an voluntary position in a non-profit association. You can learn a lot, for example about the structure of associations and how they are organized or about the political landscape in Bremen. Especially in current times of political development, you can make a difference for the rights of TIAN people. Either as part of the TIAN* community or as an ally, you can directly represent the interests of TIAN* people in Bremen and set your own priorities through your work on the board. In addition, you have the opportunity to participate in events throughout Germany on behalf of the association, such as networking meetings or general meetings of networks in which we are involved.

Have we piqued your interest? Then come and see us! We invite everyone who is interested to a get-to-know meeting on May 8, 2025 at 6 pm. You can come if you are interested in board work, if you are generally interested in working in the association, or if you just want to chat with Trans* Recht! The whole thing takes place in the counseling center.
